FAST HYDRATION GUAR GUM POWDER
FAST HYDRATION GUAR
SVGC’s specialized Fast Hydration Series of Guar Gum Powder designed specifically for the demanding needs of the oil and gas industry. The FH range of products are excellent viscosifiers for oil-drilling, work over fluids and several other oilfield applications like Drilling fluids and hydraulic fracturing, well capping, flocculent and liquid shoring etc.At SVGC, the products we manufacture are unique with ultra-high viscosity with fastest hydration characteristics as shown in the specifications document below. Also, when added with other drilling components, to seawater, a KCl solution or other aqueous system, the product suspension disperses readily without lumping, even under low-shear conditions generating most of its full viscosity within just a few minutes.

Fast Hydration Guar Gum Applications
Fast hydration guar gum powder has significant applications in the oil and gas industry, particularly in drilling and hydraulic fracturing operations.

OIL & GAS Industry
Drilling Fluids: Guar gum is used as a viscosifier and fluid loss control agent in drilling fluids. It helps maintain the viscosity and stability of the drilling mud, thereby improving the efficiency of the drilling process. Guar gum also acts as a binder for cuttings, preventing their dispersion and facilitating their removal from the wellbore.
Fracturing Fluids: Guar gum is a crucial component in hydraulic fracturing fluids, commonly known as fracking fluids. It is used as a gelling agent to increase the viscosity of the fluid, enabling it to carry proppants (typically sand) into the fractures created in the rock formation.
Pipe Lubrication: Guar gum is sometimes added to drilling fluids to act as a lubricant, reducing friction between the drilling pipe and the wellbore walls. This lubrication aids in smoother drilling operations and minimizes the chances of pipe sticking.
OIL & GAS Industry
Fluid Loss Control: Guar gum is employed as a fluid loss control additive in both drilling and fracturing operations. It forms a filter cake on the wellbore walls, reducing fluid loss into the formation and maintaining wellbore stability.
Shale Inhibition: Guar gum is used to inhibit the swelling and dispersion of shale formations during drilling and fracturing processes. It helps control the interaction between the drilling fluid and the shale, minimizing wellbore stability issues and preventing formation damage.
It's worth noting that guar gum powder is often cross-linked with boron or other chemicals to enhance its performance in oilfield drilling applications. Cross-linking increases the viscosity and thermal stability of the fluid, allowing for better control of the fracturing process and improved fluid flow properties.
